Business owners already ask AI assistants where to find funding. As of October 2026, EQ Funding works inside both ChatGPT and Claude, so the answer can come from EQ Funding's lender network instead of the assistant's general knowledge. Ask either app about a loan and you'll see how many lenders in our network fit your business, what each kind of lender asks for and how fast offers usually arrive.
What EQ Funding does inside ChatGPT and Claude
EQ Funding gives the assistant four tools. All four are read-only: they look things up or calculate, and they never change anything. Here's what each one does, as described on our EQ Funding in ChatGPT and Claude page (as of October 2026):
| Tool | What you ask | What you get back |
|---|---|---|
| Match lenders | Which lenders could fund my business? | How many lenders in EQ Funding's network fit, the type of each, the typical time to an offer and the documents each asks for |
| List funding products | What kinds of financing do you offer? | Our eight kinds of business financing, from term loans and SBA loans to invoice factoring and commercial real estate, with typical ranges |
| Document checklist | What do I need to apply? | The documents lenders usually ask for with a given kind of financing |
| Payment estimate | What would this loan cost per month? | The monthly payment, total paid and total interest of a fixed-rate loan at a rate you choose |
The match shows which kinds of lenders fit your business, such as a line of credit lender or an equipment finance lender, and when you're ready, the lender names show in your application on eqfunding.com. A payment estimate uses the rate you give it. It's a planning number, and lenders quote their own rates after they review an application.
How to add EQ Funding to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, EQ Funding is a plugin. OpenAI's help article on plugins in ChatGPT (as of October 2026) describes where plugins live, and adding ours takes three steps:
- Open Plugins in ChatGPT's sidebar.
- Search for EQ Funding.
- Select Install plugin, and connect it if ChatGPT asks you to.
Once it's installed, you can bring it into a chat by mentioning it with @ or picking it from the + menu, then ask your question in plain words.
How to add EQ Funding to Claude
In Claude, EQ Funding is a connector. Anthropic's guide to adding a connector by its address (as of October 2026) lists the steps, and for EQ Funding they look like this:
- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it EQ Funding and enter this address: https://www.eqfunding.com/api/mcp/claude
- If Claude asks how people sign in, choose No sign-in. Then select Add.
- In a chat, click +, choose Connectors and turn EQ Funding on.
Anthropic's guide says Free, Pro and Max users add custom connectors to their own account, and the Free plan allows one. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector for the organization and members then connect to it.
| ChatGPT | Claude | |
|---|---|---|
| What you add | The EQ Funding plugin | The EQ Funding connector |
| Where | Plugins, in the sidebar | Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector |
| Sign-in | None | None |
| In a chat | Mention it with @ or pick it from the + menu | Click +, choose Connectors and turn it on |
What to ask, and what it never asks for
Plain questions work best. These three show the kind of thing EQ Funding answers:
- "Could my 2-year-old trucking company in Texas get a $150K equipment loan?"
- "I run a dental practice in Ontario doing $60K a month. Who could give me a $200K line of credit?"
- "What documents do I need to apply for an SBA loan?"
For a match, the assistant needs what the money is for, where the business is, how much it needs, how long it has operated, its monthly revenue and a rough credit score. The industry helps too. It never asks for your name, contact details, Social Security number, bank details, login details or documents, and you shouldn't paste them into any chat.
Your answers stay with the tool's job. Our privacy policy (section "EQ Funding in ChatGPT and Claude", updated October 16, 2026) says EQ Funding receives only the business answers the assistant sends to run a tool, doesn't store them, and doesn't send them to lenders or anyone else. Lenders receive information only if you submit an application on eqfunding.com.
When you're ready to apply
The match ends with one link. It opens the application on eqfunding.com with your answers already filled in, so you pick up where the chat left off instead of starting over. You add your contact details and documents there, on our site, never in the chat.
One application reaches the lenders in our network that fit your business, and they compete to fund it. Each lender decides on approval, amounts, rates and terms after it reviews your application, so nothing in a ChatGPT or Claude conversation is an offer or a guarantee. If you want a fuller walk-through first, our guide on finding business lenders with ChatGPT and Claude apps covers what to share and what to keep out of any chat, and what an MCP server is explains the technology underneath in plain English.
Why we built it
More owners now start a funding search by asking an AI assistant. A plain chat answer draws on what the model already knows and on public pages it can search, and that can't tell you which lenders would fund your business today. Connecting EQ Funding lets the assistant check your answers against the lenders in our network, give you numbers you can act on, and hand you a filled-in application when you're ready.
We kept it narrow on purpose. The tools look things up and calculate, they need no account, and they never touch your bank or your documents. That makes it a quick first step: ask, see what fits, and apply on eqfunding.com when the answer looks right.
